About Meld Forums

Meld Forums is a discussion forums plugin for the Mura Content Management System.  Meld Forums was created by Clever Technology Inc. as the first in a series of integrated extensions to this excellent and highly efficient CMS.

Meld was designed from the ground up as an extension to Mura.  This means that forums members are Mura members, forum permissions are based on Mura's groups and permissions model, images and attachments are stored as Mura files, and so on. We felt this level of integration was important in allowing Mura site administrators to be able to take full advantage of Mura while using Meld Forums, and that no amount of duplication or redundancy would be necessary.  Because Meld Forums is so tightly woven into Mura, the learning curve for using Meld Forums is also very low.

Meld Forums is also designed to be design-friendly.  The last thing anybody wants is their website to look generic or common, so we've taken great pains to ensure that not only are existing themes and designs flexible, but that it would be easy to create your own custom forum layout.

Meld Forums is designed to be secure.  By using an advanced BBML editor instead of an HTML-based one, members can create nicely-formatted discussions without the site owner worrying about malicious content.  We also give administrators a great deal of control over the types and size of files that can be attached, as well as extensive control over permissions.
